Mini Golf

Last Saturday, June 6, 2009, our family went mini golfing with Grandpa Van Mersbergen at Vernard College. We all had a lot of fun.

Tulip Time- May 7,8,9 2009

"Welcoming smiles, tulips for miles," was the theme for tulip time 2009. Sharon and Katelyn had a new experience as speilers on the tour wagons. Per usual, Tulip Time held tons of laughs, good food, and wonderful Dutch heritage.

Jesse and Katelyn are getting ready for the parade. They were both in high school marching band this year.

Katelyn was a member of the PCHS flag corp.
Jesse played trombone in the front row of the band.

The Klompen Classic- May 6, 2009

Sharon and Katelyn walked in the Klompen Classic this past tulip time for the fourth year in a row. The first year we walked with Grandpa and Grandma Van Mersbergen. Grandma received the third place medal that year. We were all very excited. The weather was beautiful, so we thought we'd share a few pictures of this year's experience.

If you look at the man in all black, you will notice his shoes ( klompens a.k.a. wooden shoes). Not many people actually wear them, but it is always fun to see the few who do.

Of course, we met a few friends and relatives along the way! Hi Kenzie!!!

Although it was hard to get a good picture while walking here is Sharon. However, this particular picture is blurry because Sharon was walking so fast!!

Posing for the camera...

We finished the race! Tired, but with a feeling of accomplishment, especially because we ran part of the route and over the finish line.

Another successful finish!!!

We were waiting to see the award ceremony of all the participants. It is usually about the same people every year who win, so in our opinion Uncle Howard should come beat one of them out of it! (hint hint)

There were many people there. Well over 1, 000 runners and walkers. People come from all over to enjoy the Klompen Classic.
